What would happen if you killed Crock after he kidnapped one of your party members, and before you got him back? Would he be missing forever, and would you have to deal with his/her portrait being there, wasting away, for the rest of the game, or is there some way to save him/her other than having Crock release them? He did mention something about the party member being locked away in a shack behind his house.. but I found no such shack..

Just go upstair and search through his chest and your kidnapped member would mysteriously rejoin the party.

IMHO, it is better not to kill him because his stuff are sometimes better than Antoine's.

If you kill Crock, you can search his upstairs area and find your missing character. However, if you do the job Crock gives you, then each person in the party will get 75,000 experience. That includes the kidnapped member, who is restored to the group before the award is made.

Ah yes, but what IF you had already squeezed past Crock earlier, using the 'running' trick and sacked that chest of its contents? Would your party member still appear? =)

The programmers probably figured that the only way to get to the chest is to kill Crock, and therefore there is no way to have the chest been emptied AND a party member missing, but you can squeeze past him without killing him.. so I'd be curious to know if there is another way..
