Okay... I've got Don to steal the A.D. for me, and he has it. But, I'm not able to get it from him. I don't have nearly enough money to buy it, when I attack he dodges almost everything I attack him with, he's immune to almost all magic, and my rogue is nowhere near skilled enough to steal it. So, are there any suggestions on how to get it?

Here's the trick. Give a character (non-spellcaster) a canned elemental, also a good idea to give bishops/casters some magic nectar. Make sure all your buff spells are cast (Enchanted Blade, Missile shield-MOST important, Armorplate). Walk in the room and initiate combat (clicking the sword at the bottom of the screen). They will be surprised and you will get a whole round to prepare.

Release the canned elemental between you and the Don, but be in melee range for Calzone. If you have the Jericho Horn, this is a good time to use it. Start fighting Calzone, he's not too tough. Guardian Angel is a good spell to cast on your elemental.

Make sure when it's down to just the Don and the elemental, you disable all of your ranged attacks... they'll usually hit your elemental. Stay by the door so the Don doesn't try to retreat. Just let your elemental go to work. He won't hit often, but will do okay damage. Mind Stab can have some effect on the Don, but not many other spells, so just keep him Armor Melted, or maybe use the Porta potty.

I did all this at level 10, so it's possible. The sad part was, when I did it the first time, he didn't have the Cane of Corpus, so I had to do it again... *sigh*

Unless you're fighting Barlone to get the Cane of Corpus, there's a simple alternative: come back when you have enough money.

You don't need the Dominae Right Now. You can pick it up any time before going to Ascension Peak for the endgame.

I took out Don Barlone earlier, and the Canned Elemental is a very good strategy, but the only problem is that the Don is so powerful that he often annihilates the elemental without breaking a sweat. You have to make the Don easier to hit, because the Elementals may not be very accurate, but when they connect they hit VERY hard. Thats their strength. So to encourage hits, armor melt helps, however many people don't have Armormelt at this point, so another way to tilt the odds in your favor is blessing the elemental (cast bless when near it), enchanted blade, and most importantly, have the elemental attack Barlone's back. This makes him about three times easier to hit, and do more damage, too. How do you accomplish this? Get the Don to fight you in the doorway, and then release the canned elemental directly behind him. He will turn to fight the elemental and his back will be to you, so you can beat him up, OR he will try killing you, and the elemental will have his back.

Either way, you'll be doing a hell of alot more damage, and should be able to kill him before he does any serious harm.

He dropped the cane the first time I took him down, and I was very satisfied, that weapon simply rules. Oh, he had the Astral Dominae on him too =)

I keep my elemental alive fairly easy. I have him between the party and Don. Then I just have my people all practice their healing spells on him. Heal Wounds and Guardian Angel work very well, and if you've gotten the Laser pointer from Marten's bluff and have the Hologram Generator, then it makes things even easier.

When I fought him used the canned elemental and the Don schooled him. I then threw a doom potion, and what do you know boom instant kill

Thanks... and pardon my stupid question, but where do you get a canned elemental?

You can usually find an elemental or two along the way, or just buy them. Braffit occassionally has them, and Fuzzfas usually does, too. They are a great way to help deal out some rather large damage....a level 6 elemental is a force to be reckoned with.
