OOps! I just gave away my Helazoid Banner ( to Screg, Mook leader, hoping to get some answer like "Yes, we don´t mind, take our Chaos Moliri" or "Sure, please use our Spaceship" =)). I tried to get it back by pickpocketing, but I had no luck there. So: Do I need this Helazoid Banner later ( That would mean I must reload a saved game and lose 1h of gameplay ) ???

Try killing him.

I tried that, of course. But all he leaves behind is a potion... But more important: I don´t WANT to kill him. So, do I need the Helazoid Banner later in the game or do I not need it? And IF I need it, why am I able to just give it away? IMO, the game just shouldn´t let me, like it doesn´t let me drop some stuff I need later on...

The banner isn't important. You can bring it to Braffit in Arnika for a very small experience award. Otherwise, it's of no use. So don't worry about having given it away.
