OMG!
party of 4 with RFS as helper (all Lvl 13) are stuck in the underwater caves heading for bayjin.

currently surrounded by, count 'em, 38 Inky Squids who range from 320 HPs to 250 HPs.

nothing seems to work, except physical blows and we are fast running out of energy.

please help us! anyone know their weak spot? i didn't think these things had ANY brains, but they sure do have mental resist up the wazoos.

what's a girl to do?

Wow that's a Train!!!!

I don't remeber the weak point, just that the fire realm is off under water. Try some insanity, but from what I remember only the good onld physical attacks works well under water.

Hmmm, the only thing I can say is to return portal somewhere and let the area re-spawn those guys out.

As an alternative, consider restoring to before you entered the water, and take the land entry in the swamp to Bayjin. Much less hassle that way.

That happened to me, although not quite so many. You can't use fire spells, but you can sure use others. I think I used Dehydrate a lot, and whirlwind.

Can you find a little nook where you can fight them a few at a time? One of the earliest spells my bishops acquire is Stamina, and later on Rest All. If you have either of those, that would help with the stamina problem, as would potions.

Failing all that, restore and try again. ;)

a girl never gives up! especially with the Blonde Brigade at her side. LOL! okay okay. there are plenty of peeps who would insist that having the BB on your side is NOT a good thing....

anyway, i finally got em. those buggers are creepy. they poot clouds of ink into our faces. ewww. i couldn't believe it when my screen went blank!
ROFLMAOPIMP!!

if anyone is curious, i took rhea & ice3's advice and lured them to me, while backing up in a crevice. then had the BB just plain old "whale" ::giggles:: on their creepy butts.

physical attacks work great. esp with my rogue and samurai (who had more underwater lightning attacks than ever during this encounter... go fig). they were getting 3 sets of double and triple attacks each round. ::shakes her head, smiling:: A-MAZING!!

thanks for all the help :D it's time to find this "sea monster" everyone whispers about.

I'm glad you got through it - nasty, aren't they? :D

Have fun with Nessie. I've killed her every time without too much trouble, but I don't want to spoil you. ;)

Man!! 38.. how was the xp?

It's times like that you need your Asphyxiation to NOT fizzle on you.

the experience was great! i think we snagged something like 300 to 400,000 per person.

we all levelled up, most definitely. http://www.freakygamers.com/smilies/.../cwm/cwm29.gif

I realize that this info has probably come too late for your predicament but I find this tactic useful for any tough battle, wether it be a squid or whatever:

Have one of your casters summon an elemental. If possible cast "Haste" or "Superman" on it so it's a bit quicker on the attacks. Walk behind your opponent so that they are in between you and the elemental (between a rock and a hard place if you have an Earth Elemental ). The enemy will usually face you while the summoned elemental will do some decent damage from behind. If the enemy faces the elemental it's even better because everyone in your party gets to attack from behind.

The same tactic can be used with a turncoated or insane creature in place of the elemental.

BTW I love your signature pic, very cute. ;)
