I thought that in wiz 7, you could have a character sleep during combat - to regain some spell points, but I don't see how to do this in wiz8.

You can't sleep in the middle of a fight, unless the character is hit with a sleep spell.

Also, I don't recall being able to sleep during combat in Wiz 7, unless it was a camping that was interrupted by monsters and not everyone was awake.

In Wiz8 you can set your character to "Defend" during a combat round (shield icon). This will let the character regain some stamina. I think that spell points can regenerate during combat but they do so very slowly unless you have some bonues to your SP regen (e.g. race, items) and even then you will not get more than maybe 1 or 2 SP per realm per round.
