I have just completed the second T'Rang quest by killing the Rapax Assassin. The game seems to give one the option to avoid killing him. Is there a branch that I will miss because I killed him?

I believe killing him would only make Rapax Common Faction rating Hostile... but if you killed them in Trynton already, that shouldn't matter. As far as missing something, I'll have to say I'm not sure, but my guess is that you don't get hindered by killing him at all.

Actually, the Rapax Common start the game hostile to you. Killing the assassin doesn't do jack to your rating with them, though it might lower your 'neutral' rating with the Templars a bit (not enough to drive it below neutral, though).

Basically, not killing him is not going to make the Rapax refrain from attacking you when you go to the Rift and to the Castle.

Killing Raven Rapax has no effect on the Rapax faction ratings. Even if you somehow avoided killing him, the commons in the Rift would be hostile anyway.
