I am tired of wandering around the castle, so I killed al-sedexus, went and got Vi back and portaled back to Ferro. I still have the 3 pieces of armor and the badge, but even tho I get the message to enter , the gate does not open. How do I get to the Peak portal?

Which gate are you referring to, there are a few doors and gates in the castle ... the portal is in the upper castle, not the "main" castle where you meet Al-Sed ... not to be confused at all with the Rift of course ;)
