I have deliberately been avoiding A.peak for the end but want to finish all major and most minor quests before heading out there. I now have all the goods, have slept with and killed A. Sedexus, freed Rafe, blown up the Black Ship, disarmed the bomb, carried peace treaties to and fro...I've got Ronan and Drazic trailing along muttering about peace if I try to drop them (I thought Vi Domiwhatever deserved to come along) but I'm missing at least two things. 1: in a past save game I had the pickled Trynnie and know it's good for trading w/ Ferro for a key (whatever it does...)but now cannot find the room with the dead Trynnie; could anyone tell me where it is? 2: I haven't found the King's key and wonder what use it could have...I haven't opened the safe/locker up the lift behind Ferro and that's the only use I can think of. I don't mind either a spoiler or a hint about the King's key, it seems everyone has found it but me. Thanks in advance, especially to Jem who has answered most of my questions in the past.

OK, pickled Trynnie is easy, it's in the kitchen below the temple where you become a templar. Giving it to Ferro gets you the key to that safe.

As far as I recall, the kings key was used on the very small lock that allowed you access to the portal to the DS Tower. I think it vanishes after you use it though.

Yeah, you really need that King's Key, otherwise you can't deactivate the Savant's bomb, and that means a very bad ending at the Peak.

The key is in the room you reach from the secret tunnel in the prince's room near the zoo. Then you go to the room with the animal heads on the wall, and in a clear space on that wall is the lock that opens the portal to the tower.

The odd thing to me is that Rodan and Drazic are still with you. They should have left the party by now. Did you go back to Yamir after blowing up the ship?

Has anybody tried to go to Ascension Peak without deactivating the bomb? I'm guessing that if you do the DS blows up the planet and the game ends unsuccessfully. Confirmation anyone?

Haven't seen it, but can confirm it from what I have heard at another forum. You have just completed an unsuccessful ending of Wizardry 8 - everyone's dead now - don't expect any thanks you big ZERO.
