I need clarification on the Double and Triple shot bows, I do not have a gadgeteer in my party, but really want one of these bows. Can I buy a finished xbow, or only components to make one. If I can buy them - where. If I have to make them, are there any Gadgeteers that I can have join my party to make them (NPCs). If neither one of these, can I create a new character now (Gadgeteer) - even though I am level 10-11 with 6 party members ??
Please Help... Thanks |
VAGUE:
I don't have a gadgeteer in my current party, and one of my characters is using a doubleshot crossbow, so I must have picked it up somewhere. (I know that's not much help, but the answer to your question is, "Yes, it is possible to get a doubleshot crossbow without a gadgeteer.") NOT VERY SPOILERISH, SINCE THIS INFO IS ALL OVER THE BB, BUT STILL . . . However, if you want to have a gadgeteer join your party, recruit Madras from Trynton, and have him use his gadgeteering skills as much as possible to get them up to 35 for the doubleshot and 70 for the tripleshot. As I'm sure you've already read, you must merge LIGHT crossbows. |
Madras is Gadgeteer NPC at Upper Trynton Area,After his QUEST You can join him.

Thanks, I appreciate the information, I will try to get Madras into my party.
Any easy, fast way to boost engineering skill, preferably without buying a lot of items... any tips would be helpful |
Well, the only thing you can do is use as much gadgets as possible. You'll have to find most of them, so it won't cost you much. Hope you didn't sell the ones you found already... You can find a list of gadgets here, maybe this helps you to reach your goal early. But, 70 is not THAT hard to reach, the skill goes up pretty fast in the beginning... and using gadgets is cooooll!!! Enjoy!
Never forget your towel, cheers Philipp [ 03-01-2002: Message edited by: Pyrates ]
|
thanks for the use gadgets tip, Is there an item that will boost engineering as I use it in combat, like the Omnigun, if so which is best to use if i want engineering to go up fast.
I also plan to put as many points into engineering as a I can when he levels up, any other stats help engineering go up ? STR, INT, etc... |
The best combat gadget is probably the lightning rod found in the monastery. If you still have that, you can let Madras use that in combat.
Next best item is probably the port-o-potty, for noxious fumes. I have never seen a double or triple shot xbow for sale anywhere in the game, nor have I ever seen one drop as a random item. So your best bet is to have Madras make them for you. And remember, only light crossbows can be merged.
Nightowl2
|
I made a double and triple shot crossbow but ended up putting it on a shelf. I could keep enough quarrels in stock. I'd have to make a trip back to an armory every 6th or 7th battle. In fact, my gadgeteer toward the end was firing 4 or 5 bullets per trigger pull. Thank goodness for those rock piles on Ascension Peak.

I have a gadgeteer in my group. To get his skills up, I look for and combine as many gaqdget componets as possible and use them as much as possible. If you ever get the X-ray scanner, it's good to use over and over to get skills up. Porta pottie is useful to.
Oh and I did manage to find a double shot crossbow somewhere...it was after I made a triple shot one though. They may drop, but they are random I guess and rare. |
I appreciate the feedback - thanks, now for a stupid question....
Can you combine (2) Long Bows and make a Doubleshot bow ??? Who else, aside from Anna sells Light Crossbows? |
