Hi! i'm a newbie and i'm french so excuse my poor writting. it's very difficult for us to find wizardry in france because no editor has choosen to distribuate this game.So our only issue is tou buy it on the web. My question is : the game can run on the sotfware mode by itself, or the 3d acelaration is necessary ?

i hope that my writting could have been understood by the most people.

I just checked the program autodetect youre system and will run in software mode with support of mmx, but graphigs card are cheap now and i would recommend playing with a card that supports direct 3d or open gl it will be much more enjoyable.
Don´t worrie about youre english mine is probably worse and noone on this board will comment youre english.
Buy the game on the web it is well worth the money roleplaying ont the computer cannot be better then with this title.
Good luck
Niko

Bon jour cebibi, Sir-Tech lists a requirement of a 3D Accelerator with 8MB of Texture memory, however it works on my computer and I'm not sure if my video card is a 3d accelerator. It's a nVidia 32MB TNT card, and other games like Diablo2 do not let me run in 3d Glide mode, so I'm not sure. I run on Windows 2000 and it gave me the option to choose Direct X 7 instead of openGL and it seems to run fine.

If they do international shipping, I'd recommend you go to www.pricewatch.com and mail-order a good video card, they're quite inexpensive. For instance they have Voodoo 3 16MB cards with 3dfx for $31 plus shipping cost (that's about 160 francs I think)

Only 3DFX cards can use Glide mode, as Glide was a proprietary 3D display driver (before the wholesale pick up of OpenGL, which is non-vendor specific).

Salut,

Pas de problem pour trouver le jeu en ligne. Je me fournis toujours au Canada car j'en ai marre d'attendre 6 mois avant qu'un jeu ne sorte. Essay: Dragon.ca

It's such a shame that the game isn't ditributed to europe very well

Sorry i meant to say more.

You can get it in Germany (american version) quite cheap,
or you can get it directly from the Main Wizardry Webpage.

Unfortunatly the distributor there doesn't ship it to the UK
(i am not sure about france)
so i had to get it from somewhere else:
https://www.interactcd.com fairly cheap

Good luck with the delivery!
I will get mine hopefully this weekend,
I had to wait almost 10 years, so another 2 days shouldn't matter....
BUT THEY DO!!!!!
