Hi folks!
SPOILER ALERT! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * There is a room in Marten's Bluff I haven't been in yet. I know I have to use the combination 7-4-0 (pickpocketed papers/read spoilers). But the sentinels in front of the entrance keep sending me away, even killing them with instant death decreases my faction rating. I don't want that, I am trying to unite T&U. How can I get in, or make the guards let me in? Is there something interesting? I sort of messed up with the T'rant and ended up on their bad side. I ended up just killing every one and going on in there. uneless you want to end up like me, I don't think you need to go in there. If you want to stop them and and thier evil plans, then go on in. It also helps to kill the power before going in I think.(maybe not, but I did)

It was asphyxiation that can kill without changing faction rating, but it won't help you here.Even if you get the guards their are about 15-19 T'rang inside in three different groups that will go hostle if you venture in.The only thing of real intrest I rember inside was a expermental shock rod type polearm.The polearms you should have by this level were better imho.

Thanks for your answers, guys, appreciated! I guess I will skip this room, though it leaves a bad feeling that there's something going on I don't know about... maybe I'll make an extra-save and slaughter my way through it, just to see it, and then go back and leave it like it is... or, better even, when the alliance is fixed, I'll go in anyway, I don't have to care about my faction-rating then...

actually, there is a way to get the mindblast rod without irritating the guards and decreasing your faction rating with the t'rang:
go to the main corridor of that part of lower marten's bluff and camp until your party gets attacked by monsters - shadow hound is of use here. then, as soon as battle commences, run towards the 740 room (which you should have previously opened) and continue running towards it every combat round, whilst making sure those critters follow you. the guards won't (or can't) mind that you enter their room. as soon as you are close enough, just grab the rod and run out of the room again. now you can finally take on those puny apuses or millipedes or whatever and walk away with that rod. using this trick you can also get past the t'rang sentinel in order to get access to the 4-way teleporter earlier on, btw. |
Ah, thanks reep, that's a cute trick. But just for grabbing the mindblast rod I won't use, I think I won't do it. Thanks anyway, maybe on my next time through, when I really have a use for that...
