i just got the cat of nine tails (sic), planning on wielding that as the first mace&flail type of weapon and the diamond eyes as the secondary weapon. however, they are incompatible, ie. the game will not let me wield them both at the same time.

what am i doing wrong?

no, it's singlehanded. i have a suspicion that it has something to do with the cat o nine tails being an extended weapon and the diamond eyes being a close weapon. does that makes them incompatible?

Afraid so. You could have a shield in the offhand, but not a weapon. If you want to use the cat (nice item, by the way), it will have to be as a single weapon only. Same is true for the vampire chain.

Aye thats correct about Cat being an extanded. If you still wish to dual wield maces you can d/w 2 diamondeye's though or something else with decent dmg/effects. @ x Diamondeye's seems to be the most popular though.
