Here's what I did:
I like making up characters. It's tons of fun. I don't make superbeings or anything, I mostly just like experimenting with different classes and such. So I started a multiplayer game with 3 of my own characters. I chose three because then there's still room for other PC's to join the party and go on quests. But - it's no big deal to start the multiplayer game or anything, but for multiplayer, the "rest until healed" option isn't available. So, I went into my BG2 directory and cut the save folder from the "mpsave" directory and put it into my "save" (single player) directory. So far there aren't any problems other than the these, which I consider pretty minor: Newest party member sometimes tries to but-in to stand right behind 1st xter, as if the next two don't exist. Sometimes, the person who is fourth in the snake formation will leave a rather large gap between themselves and the third character. Almost like the game is counting my three 'made' xter's as one, and Jaheira (or whoever) is leaving space for whoever's in the 2nd and 3rd spots. That's it really. Though I haven't tried to boot out one of the three characters - I doubt I can get away with it. But I hardly think I'm the first person to do this so...I'd appreciate it if anyone here can tell me if there are major bugs down the road for me because I moved a multiplayer save to the single player save folder. I'm in the middle of the De'Arnise Hold quest so it's fairly early in the game. I'd hate to put in another thirty of forty hours only to have some major fubar occur. |
...but for multiplayer, the "rest until healed" option isn't available.
Umm...start a multiplayer game, go to Options, go to Game Play, there should be five buttons. Gore, Dither Always, Group Infravision, Weather and... Rest Until Healed. I have TOB though, maybe it wasn't in the regular SOA but I can't remember. |
Nigauble:
What you describe is the standard way of making a multi-player game into a single-player. I have done it several times without any adverse effects. |
right you are :jack o clubs:, my girlfriend always playes that way and she never encountered any problems (except for the fact, that quick-load ins't available)
|
Good news then. I'll proceed with reckless abandon. Thanks.
Jerhal, I guess they fixed it for ToB cause SoA doesn't allow it. Maybe there's a patch but I haven't seen one. |
