I've been to Arnika and Trynton and finally explored the whole of the swamp area. There seem to be several choices from here. Which of these is best? Myles doesn't seem to want to go anywhere, but I don't really want to lose him yet. Maybe I should head back North past Arnika?
All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
You're probably not ready for Bayjin yet so I'd avoid that area for now.
If you want to gain some XP, I'd say the SE Wilderness would be a good option - especially since all of the Wilderness ares eventually connect to one another so this would allow you to get back to the N. Wilderness via the SE Wilderness and then Mtn. Wilderness. If you want to get on with some of the quests (finding Marten's Idol, etc), I'd go for the Mines. There's no need to go to Marten's Bluff from the Swamp -- you can get there another way and there are certain areas you can't access at all unless you go in that other way. I believe Myles will stay with you for the Mines and SE Wilderness. |
I found a few useful items in the Northern Wilderness (linked from Arnika Road), and there's a few areas linked off of it.. Not sure if Myles goes in any of them as I didn't take him around with me much, but if he won't go to any of the areas linked from the Swamp and you don't want to drop him (though you should be able to pick him back up later in Arnika), you might try going to the N. Wilderness and take a look see for yourself.

Thanx for the quick responses.
Bayjin? Does that have something to do with Rynjins? I ran into a handful of Rynjin sentries in the north middle of the swamp map. They chased me all the way back to the huts and kicked the snot out of my entire party. :( Had no choice but to reload...my first reload so far. So I guess I won't be going that way any time soon. Other than that, is any direction somewhat easier than others? I've been slogging around in the swamp for a while now, and I'd welcome a slightly less intense combat experience for a time. |
Dump Myles and go either to the Mines or Mt. Gigas. These areas have less combat but the quests provide a good source of experience. Myles will not adventure beyond any area in the swamp or Northern Wilderness.

You can either go to Marten`s Bluff area and get some good and easy XP (Myles leave) pick him up later in Arnika!
Or Mines but there it is little difficult for a low (11- 14)level party i think, because there are horder of Savant troopers, Tantowasp`s, WildSpiders and Bloodsucker`s there and it seem`s to be no end of them if you rest there they "Respawn"! |
Call me silly but, um, how do you get to the SE Wilderness from the Mines (if I'm reading Jem's post correctly). Is there another minecart combination I haven't discovered yet? So far, I only found three possible destinations.
If there is then... I'll just have to work on it! The way I normally get to the SE Wilderness is via the T'rang teleporter. krok |
Krayzkrok You can go to SE. Wilderness from the swamp!
