And yes, hoard your spell picks to use later for 6th and 7th level spells which you cannot find spellbooks for. Anything lower than 6th level you can find/buy/steal.

You should go with a Fairie Mage, and concentrate on Intelligence, Piety, and then Speed. You should save some spell picks from time to time. Hint: find the spell books. I also am playing with a: human samurai, mook ranger, elf bishop, dracon fighter(kicks ass!!) other party members are gnome gadgeteer, fairie mage(awesome with powercast)
