Is the charm spell usefull for anything, other then getting spellbook experience?

It's useful for making NPC's more friendly towards you (assuming they aren't to the point of fighting already). I've found it useful with some vendors after failing pickpocket.. generally have to cast it several times, but eventually they switch back to friendly from neutral.
