I might have to end up installing win98 or ME on a separte partition :( (I left 3 gig unpartioned for just such an occasion) I've already found that its impossible to get another game working on win2k - myth II soulblighter |
Where did you get this. Interplay has the install instructions but no other info.

CD ONLY It appears this CD is getting harder to buy. I couldnt find any other places that sold it that didnt have the status as "back order" |
Thx Strider, it is ordered.
If you find the old games too slow for your system, look for a utility named moslo. There is a freeware version and then a more advanced one that is $20. It made it possible for me to play the origional XComm on my 1.8 gig machine. |
np. my credit card got charged about 4 days after I ordered it. didnt receive an email about it being shipped thou. And that web page doesnt have an "order status" section that I can see. only a shopping cart...hm..
I presume it will turn up after it crosses the Pacific [ 01-09-2002: Message edited by: Strider_314 ]</p> |
I've had this for a while now, and it's great! Although, I have yet to achieve the "Wizardry Trifecta". (i.e. Playing them ALL the WHOLE WAY THROUGH, and transferring the chars through the series.) I don't think I have that sort of time....

Congratulations!
Excellent Purchase! I've yet to shake my copy out of my friend's toybox...I am afraid he'll ask me for Wiz 8 when I do LOL! I got the archives and played them all over again early last year (orthe year before) on Win98...the graphics in 5 & 6 were way too cheesy to enjoy (pity because I absolutely loved 5 on the SNES!)...does that link fix them to what they should look like? (anyone?) I did import my original characters through my games but did not finish 6 or play 7 (in the Archives CD) because I had played 7 to death when I had "Gold" back in '95 or '96...whenever it was released. I didn't save one disk with my old games on them either! As a matter of fact, I formatted the disks and used them for other stuff last spring...don't bother kicking me in the pants, I did it myself. ;) |

RE: running on a new macine...don't know about Win2K, but Wiz 1-7 won't run AT ALL on an ME system. They require booting straight to DOS, not a DOS window, an impossibility on ME. OTOH, they run just fine on an older 486 with Win 98. Wiz gold DOES run fine on ME, everything, including sound, installed and ran 1st time with no tweaking needed. And Mo-Slo is on the disk, and installs automatically. All manuals are also on the disk as .pdf files. |
