I have both my samurai and lord using two weapons (samurai two swords, lord one sword one dagger). I figured that way they hit twice, right? Or is it better to use one bigger two handed sword?

at low levels, i had my Lord using two weapons, but i switched to a single two-handed weapon (polearm). it seemed that he was getting more damage with the single weapon. now that he's got a little experience under his belt i may have to try two weapons again.

Dual weapons will pay off eventually. Its a later developing skill.

Note that there are other combos of weapons that you can dual with which makes dual weapons an even better deal.
