My fighter has a sword called bloodlust or something like that and he goes berserk with it and hits multiple times for 25-35 points seems great for a level 9 fighter but he can't swith to a bow for ranged fighting the weapon is cursed, any way to keep it uncursed? my thief also has a poison dagger that hits very well but again can't switch to ranged weapons???Other than that this game is one of the best I've played in years!!!Tomorrow calls for rain so I'll be home all day playing(no work)..John

It's a big debate. Some don't like cursed weapons, because that means he won't use any alternate weapon - say like a bow. However, you can't beat the damage he does in melee. I didn't like cursed weapons at first, till I looked over my wife's shoulder and saw her level 8 warrior doing more damage than my level 13 warrior. I quickly quipped up Bloodlust and am now wreacking havoc!

At first I did not think I was going to like cursed weapons. I mean you do not get to attack at range which means you have to close with your enemy or wait for them to come to you. On the other hand once you get in Melee range your are doing massive damage. I could not resist the lure and gave my samurai Bloodlust. Now the rest is history. He has twice as many kills as the next closest character in the party. I have also found that since everyone else can attack at range I do not necessarily lose much flexibility with only a single character with a cursed weapon.

you shouldn't give bloodlust to your pure fighter. he already has the berserk ability, right? give it to another teammate who can't berserk. i try to keep my girls specialized in one thing, ranged or melee. the melee can use ranged things, but they aren't much good at them, so i prefer to beef their specialization. i have given vi the raven's bill, which is cursed, and she completely goes nuts with it. LOL. someone said "i have never once finished a fight thinking, damn... i really needed to switch to a sling to win that one." even against the nightmares i have run into, i like using my ranger (double shots per attack, 2 attacks), mage (casting paralization spells) and bard (instruments to cause insanity/slow them/haste us) while we close in on them and then mop up with melee. it just works really well for me that way. and that's the most important thing in this debate. whatever leaves you dancing a victory dance over the bodies of your dead opponents is good. :D |
