Well.... I haven't experienced it myself yet but apparently some of the more expensive gems can be used to upgrade items in the Throne of Bhaal expansion. In SoA the only use that I can think of is for a Rogue Stone... It lets you into a special area in the Bridge district.

Only a couple are useful in SoA. More are useful in ToB, but in SoA, sell them all except one rogue stone, one diamond and one beljuril. They're just treasure, sell them

Buy a gem back and keep the gems for some time if you are unsure. You'll need some of the gems you find.

Someone told me that these gems are needed in ToB.

6 Star Saphires
2 Rogue Stones
1 Diamond
1 Emerald
1 Ruby
2 Kings Tears

I have a Rogue stone. so where do i use it? Im on SOA.

Rogue Stone is tricky.. But before you go "out" and use it, it would be good to know the strength of your party. Not like I am hiding something or so :D

You use it in the Bridge District, in the lower part of the map. There is a door there (watch it, it's trapped!) which will only open for you if you have a Rogue Stone in your pack, otherwise it just says you stare into 'impenetrable darkness' which is too black to be able to continue. Warning: prepare for a fight, if you want a fair chance at success make sure your party is high-level!

Oh and Jan, did you get that list from GameBanshee by any chance? It has the same mistake in it.... there are no rubies in the game, only Ruby Rings... So that one you can leave out of the list.

Ohh sorry. I forgot to delete the ruby. Someone informed me about it. My mistake. Shall not bring rubbish any more.
