Well, it looks like it's going to be a while before I can buy a copy of 8; so, I've decided to replay 7 while I wait, to build up a party to import into 8.
This leaves me with some important decisions to make about what their race and final class will be and I neeb some info about 8 to decide:
1) What are the special abilities/attributes of each race?
2) What are the special abilities/attributes of each class?
3) When changing class, can you change back to one you have previously been? ie, can I have a character alternate classes each lvl, like a bard even levels and a gadgeteer odd lvls.
4) What are the armor/weapons limitations of each class?
5) The new Bishop looks cool, anyone have an opinion about their effectiveness?

Umm, I guess I realy just need the game manual copied into a post for me...lol
Any help would be appreciated.

Ohh, almost forgot...
What items have people seen import over? Do any of the light sword, light shield, frontier phasor, cobaltine glove transfer and if so, do they have the same stats as in 7?

Hi!

I've imported my party to Wizardry 8, and these items came through :

Weapons :
- Ymmu's Paw, Elven Bow, Faerie Stick
- Katana, Wakizashi, Nunchaka, Bullwhip, Lance, Bo, Sai, Mystic Spear
- some Barbed, Shrike and Mystic Arrows

Other items :
- 1 piece of Ankh of Might, Stink Bombs, Cherry Bombs, some scrolls (for example : Haste)

Some armor like :
- Gossamer Gown, Chain Hauberk, gloves (don't remember what kind), Wizard's Cone, etc...

None of the ultra-brutal-hardcore weapons came through.. :( (

Bye!

Oh, I almost forgot, that your skills will be reduced, and your fire magic skill will be 0...

Thanks, figured skills would go down, they always do...
Realy want to import for the weapons/armor, if it's like 7, then it'll be hard to get all the ebony/mantis unless you've imported a couple of peices.

What about stats, how do Str, int, ect transfer since it's a completely different setup? Are you better/worse off than with a new group?

a couple things about class changing. (keep in mind i haven't played w7, fwiw)
class changing isn't the same as in the previous games. i think you guys had it easy in the other ones. ::rolls her eyes:: going from class to class like trying out different sodas. and not even burping as you do. LOL!

in w8, it's much more logical. you maintain your character's levels. none of this starting all over at level 1 junk. you have to think long and hard about it. since it's totally based on character levels, if you're level 10, then you switch over, you don't gain your new class level till you hit character level 11.

oh yeah. another thing. you don't keep advancing in the old class. that's turned off. you can use what you know about that class till that point, but don't learn anything new until you go back to that class.

hope that helps you some!

V***V

Thanks Vesselle,
So...let me see if I have this right...
If I make an Alchemist, then change to a mage, I can still use alchemy, but while using it, I won't gaing any skill?
Sorta ruins my plans...
I had kinda settled on having 1 Bishop and 1 Achemist/mage, would I be better off with 2 Bishops? Anyone have any experiences they wish to share?
