I was playing it for about 5 hours and my eyes began to feel odd--the feeling you get when you have 'traveling sickness'. I became nausious and threw up. I'm not joking.. I laughed my ass off afterwards.. a GAME made me ill.. That has never happened before..

I have a 64mb Geforce2 GTS too, and MAN.. it has fluid movement, and I was running a lot.. haha.. anyone else get queezy playing W8?

PS: This has never happened to me before (and I've played games since 1984) and own over 150 games, so I am wondering if the Wendys fastfood was bad.. lol..

But I gotta say, this game is SO fun.. I HOPE it was the food! ;)

Aw Man!
I hope it was the food!
Sorry you got sick!

(At least it was over quick LOL, I have had a sinus & respiratory infection that's been kicking my butt since Thursday. :( )

Still, I'd rather not puke! I'm sorry Ziroc!

Sad to say, I think its a symptom of growing old ( shock, horror )
I suffer from this problem too, at times, though I've never actually thrown up yet. Some games are worse than others ...

Try these tricks, Ziroc - they should help, they work for me ....

Look away from the screen every 5 minutes or so - focus on something as far away as possible for 10 seconds or so.
Eat or drink anything with ginger in it - ginger beer especially.
( You can buy ginger tablets in health food shops )
Make sure the room is well ventilated. Put a fan on nearby, on a low setting ..
If you start feeling ill, shut your eyes for a short time, or take a short break.

How dare our bodies deny us the pleasure of the pastime/(obsession) we love so much !!

Ziroc, take a little break every now and then and you should be ok. Just stop and get up and walk around for five minutes or so. This should help.

I've heard of people getting that feeling from W&W too but I haven't experienced it personally.

I find that the movement was more fluid in W&W than in Wiz 8. Perhaps it is related to using the arrow keys for movement rather than the number pad but I find that I can't run around as smoothly and easily as I could in W&W.

I'll not be playing this morning - have some W&W hacks to do for players which I've already had to delay due to time demands. Hopefully later today I will have a dozen Border Collie Xmas signs to paint up and be too busy to play then too! :D

And I thought it was just coincidence that I had a bit of nausea when I played the demo.... Or maybe it was, not going to let it prevent me from buying Wizardry 8 though!

Hey Ziroc,

I know what you are saying about the motion sickness. I haven't started Wiz8 yet as I am still trooping along in W&W and want to finish it first. W&W never has made me sick, but others (especially Half-Life) make me very ill. I could never play HL for more than 10 minutes without ending up on the couch in a cold sweat! :D

Anyway, you are not alone. It seems to affect certain people this way. I just hope I don't have the same issue with Wiz8. Also, I think age may have something to do with it. I never used to be affected like this by games in my early 20s. Now that I am in my early 30s I seem to not be able to handle it! Ha!

LOL!
i was happy when i found out that there really was an official ReStarters Clan, because i thot i was the only gamer in the world who restarted all her games a kajillion times.....

and now, again, i see i'm not alone. i didn't notice it in the demo. oh wait, i'm trying to psyche myself out. ::hangs her head:: yes, i did see it in the demo.

so now, i take dramamine an hour before playing. really! no eyes going flakey, no cold sweats, no feeling like i'm going to lose my dinner...

i used to blame it on the mouse look or first person, now i know it's just the way my brain is wired. at least i'm in good company. ::gives a strained, queasy type smile::
