Praise and happiness that we here in Oz don't have much longer to wait after the US release ...

My copy is now pre-booked. A bit sad that I have been the only person to ask my local EB about Wiz 8. :confused:

I hear that EB in OZ only got word in the last 24 hoursabout the game. I rang both stores in Perth yesterday and got the same info - "What's Wiz 8 - it's not on my list, and if it aint on my list it's not coming buddy - no I don't care about what you have heard from the US or the eastern states" :D . The VN Board has someone that is giving a November 23 as a release date. Somewhere about that date anyway it should arrive. Cheers Pangur - it's coming :D .

Why can't they release it all over the world at the same date? Now I'm going to have to hear EVERYONE praising the game and mentioning cool stuff while I'm going to have to wait till December if I want it!

i totally agree with you! i understand localizations take time and small companies sometimes need that money from the initial release to finish up... but in the case where they release the same language version, it should be everywhere at once!

i have seen completely civil and friendly forum encounters degrade into international flame wars just because of that. then people who don't have the game end up leaving the forums, because us stoopid gamers-with-the-game go around spoiley-talking everywhere! ::smiles::

anyway.... i know that won't happen here. ::whispers:: just watch those "other" boards, tho. LOL. they will turn into a mess.

All right - went to EB store in Perth today - first store clerk looks at computer for new releases and I start to get the same old "No Sir, we know nothing" story, and even started to tell me that it wouldn't be coming to OZ, let alone Perth. Fortunately the store manager, who is on the ball spots this, and points out that the guy hasn't checked the list of latest faxes like he is supposed to on a new release query. In there is a fax dated 7th November saying that all stores will be receiving their Wiz 8 stocks within 2 weeks. Price is $89.95 Australian, with $10 off for pre-order. I have paid for my game, and just have to front up with my receit when they ring me.

Further news - Take 2 is the software company that is importing / distributing Wiz 8. EB got the notification from them, and are getting their stocks from them. Harvey Norman, some 2 weeks ago, were expecting their supplies of Wiz 8 to come through Take 2, so you may find that you do not have to exclusively deal with EB stores. I suspect that you won't get a better price though.
