Still nada on a publisher. It's been how long since an update? a full quarter of a year? Bah, that's way too long.
I think I'm losing the faith my brothers and siters.... something is not right here. NO company would let his fans stay that long without any news unless something is wrong.
I mean, if things were going good then why the utter silence? It's like Sir-Tech isn't even in business anymore...

No this is not good, I think I will have to move on soon and spend my energy on games that have a better chance of actually comming out some day.
I'm actually getting irritated when thinking about Wizardry and that's not good for a game. Games should be fun, not annoying.

This is not ment as a rant, this is simply how I feel about it now. I still hope it will be released but honestly I don't have much faith in that anymore.

Hi Snoekie

I share your pain my friend, and it is strange that they have not bothered to update their webpage. Even if they said "nothing new to report" to their fans, it would be better than the cone of silence that they are doing now.

I have faith, with that this game will be released and that it will also be a great game. However, I know it may be a while before we see it, but we just have some patience!

I know its tough, it angers me some to see the lack of updates, and lack of a public beta (I believe that was a bad business tactic), but I also respect Sir-Tech's need to find a publisher to make a profit and stay in business.

But yes, it seems like something is wrong, but I'm figuring they must have a master plan of some sort. So, keep the faith everyone! We will see this game! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

For now, this Bard's Tale game looks promising, and there will be lots of other games out. I saw the Diablo 2 update this weekend, pretty cool. So, just forget about Wiz 8 and let it sit on the back burner for now. What else can we do?

We'll see what happens, if this causes Sir-Tech a loss of business, then this will be a good lesson for them. And for us, if you ever make a game, try and get a publisher first!!!

Best,

Scronan

You don't suffer games lightly, do you, Snoekie? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Seriously, don't take it so to heart. We've been waiting for Wiz 8 for many years as well. Sir-Tech has specifically kept publishers out of their work for this long so as to have more autonomy about what they wanted to do and to keep the publishers from cutting stuff to get the thing out of the door (like what happened with Wizards & Warriors http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif )

In the meantime, there are PLENTY of other games out on the market to afford some pleasure. Check those out while waiting for Wizardy 8. One mustn't take a gaming company's delay personally, no matter how frustrating it may seem.

I know how you feel, I'm beginning to think that the game isn't coming out for a long while. It'll have to come out bye the end of the year I think or the technology will become outdated. I think the real problem behind this is a simple neglect of their website, not a loss of the game. I think that, if worse comes to worse, Sir-Tech will simply have to publish the game by itself. I really don't think that Sir-Tech will not allow its a sequel in its best selling series of game to not be released. Wizardry is what Sir-Tech is best known for and if they fail to release this game, it could be BAD news for them. I really have no idea why Sir-Tech hasn't let anyone know what's going on, wherever they may decide to do that, whether it be their site, a computer-gaming review site or on TV and in magazines. The silence is beginning to disturb me too. I really don't know what's going on but they had best get their act together soon or Wizardry will end up in the bargain bin instead of on the new release and best sellers sections.

Eehm...I think you misunderstood Saz. Yes, I am very dissapointed in the way things are going with this game. But it's not like I'm personally depressed about it or anything http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif Hehe, it's a game, not a life-threatening condition.
And it's also not like I'm doing nothing in the meanwhile. I have several other games on my harddrive right now which I often play given time. (like replaying Deus Ex; that game rocks!)
I also am a Asherons Call "vet" or should I say AC addict? hehe

It's just that this game deserves so much better that the utter silence it's getting now.
So don't worry Saz, I'm still ok personally as well as in the gaming department http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif Thanks for the concern though! Seriously, that's one of the reasons I keep comming back to the Ironworks: friendly, polite people who care. Who also happen to have the same interests as me. Haha, sorry, Snoekie, that was partially "tongue-in-cheek." I knew you weren't personally disturbed by it.

And yes, I'm getting impatient, too. I'm ready for it to come out!!

I just checked the Wiz 8 site (AGAIN!) and still no updates. I've pretty much given up on the website, I'll just wait around until I hear something elsewhere. I think Sir-Tech has basically abandoned the Wiz 8 website. Nothing has happened with it for the past 3 months, so I'm thinking that they're completely done with it. Kind of a stupid move for them but so was waiting to get a publisher until the game is completely made. Oh I hope it comes out soon......
