It was listed as Nov 15, 2001 a couple of months back. Now it says July 15, 2001. Anyone know if they have what they need to get this baby on the shelves?

Hiya,

I wouldn't put any faith in those dates listed, unless they come from Sir Tech Canada. check out of the forums off of their site, Ian and Linda Currie have posted stating that there is still no official release date. Their word is cannon, and everything else is just speculation.

I have a feeling it will be later this year, but I think its going to be just about the best RPG ever seen, so its well worth the wait! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Only thing I'm worried about...

they're going to be dead in the water if they come out head-to-head with either NeverWinter Nights or TES: Morrowind. Either way, it's going to be bad. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif

Yes, but on the player's side, we get to have three really good game at once (hopefully all 3 will be good).

Personnally, I'm looking forward to Morrowind since I never really played Wizardry (except the Bane one which I hated). But given the blast I'm having with W&W, I'll definately give W8 a chance.

I agree with Ryanamur. If we're lucky we will have 3 good rpg's at the end of this year.
Not sure about Neverwinter nights myself. Perhaps I should read some previews/first looks somewhere to get up to speed.
Never played Wizardry but I've heard nothing but good things about it. The screenshots I've seen look good too so I probably will give that game a go when it hit the shelves http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

TES: Morrowind is the one I'm looking forward to the most as well. I liked TES: Daggerfall alot but the endless stream of bugs made me quit. Still...it was one of the better rpg's I've played in sense of sheer scope and freedom of play.
I'm hoping that with Morrowind Bethesda will set a benchmark for single player rpg's.

Well, Morrowind will be lots smaller than the other Elder Scrolls game and look much better. I think a smaller game geographically will be much better.

Maybe we'll have it by Christmas "this" year (crossed fingers...hard to type though!).

Maybe Ziroc will set up a Morrowind board, so I won't post stuff like this here instead of Wiz8 stuff!

I do hope we have a Morrowind board, Skywalker! I'll suggest something along those lines to Ziroc when the time is getting a little closer. I used to frequent the Daggerweb forum way back in 1996 and 1997, before it was ported to alt.games.daggerfall (when it went to he** in about 15 hand baskets *sigh* at least we don't have to worry about that here!)

I've heard two things so far about Morrowind: Yes, it is more compact than Daggerfall, and it is customizable (you can write your own modules for it). I can only hope they'll get rid of the random dungeons, though!

Hehe, yeah the random dungeons in Daggerfall http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/hihi.gif I remember them now that you mentioned it. Sometimes I even thought I got in the wrong dungeon somehow because I didn't reckognize it when I got back http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
But it looks like Morrowind won't have that, thankfully.
What IS possible, however, is that the same location could hold different monsters according to the players level.
The way I understand it to work is like this: Enter dungeon as lvl 1 and encounter monsters that a lvl 1 could handle.
If you would enter the same dungeon as a lvl 50 you would find monsters who would beat the living #$%& out of a lvl 1 but are good for a lvl 50.
Now that sounds pretty cool to me http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...s/coollook.gif
The majority of monsters will only be there the first time you visit but if you happen to get back later in the game there should always be some baddies to kick around just for fun http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no.../1grlaugh2.gif

I'm sure you all are aware of www.morrowind.com but if you're not, go check it out! I have found that info, and lots more, about the game there and it looks promising.
Now all they gotta do is deliver the goods as promised without the multitude of bugs that plagued Daggerfall http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

p.s. Could I start a thread on morrowind in the General Discussions board? I mean, is that considered "ok" to do? Not that it stopped me from posting about it on this board, hehe, but I thought I'll go ahead and ask anyway.
People might get offended or something and I don't want that.
The folks who visit this board don't seem to mind though.

Snoekie - oh don't start a thread on Morrowing in General Discussions - I would completely miss out on it! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif Do it here or over in W&W ! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
