I have actually posted descriptions of some Logic Blocks and GPDL scripts in Manikus' forum. Everybody who for example does not know how walls can be changed during gameplay may find some answers there!
I hope everything is understandable...

Unfortunately, it seems that only the Default Wall format can be used for the function that allows wall changing.

I have also added a description of how events can be triggered by hour. Could be useful if you for example want a shop to be open only at certain times (let's say from 12 to 14 o'clock). However, I have not found out everything about the GET_PARTY_TIME function, perhaps somebody can improve my method!

Good news, all wall formats can be used for changing walls. The only problem is that it seems not to be possible to exchange 2 walls based on 2 different wall formats, for example if you exchange a wall in the default format against a wall in Kevin's tavern demo format, it wil be desplayed incorrect!
However, this does not seem to be a big problem.

Yep, thank you for posting the link.

While I managed to do the exchange-wall-against-other-wall-thing, I was still not able to figure out how backgrounds can be changed. :(
While it might be not that important, it would be useful for e.G. an switch on/off light event.
Another thing that I would like to know is if the background image for an overland view can be changed (without teleporting to another overland map). Maybe it might also be possible with the SET_LEVEL_ASL tool, but it is not explained in the help file...

I have tried changing the background as well and also met with no success. But, I haven't given up on it.
I also want to figure out if I can change the border art work and game font. I'm pretty sure I can do the first, not so sure about the second.

I'll post if I have success and then put my examples up on the other board.

Perhaps I understood you wrong, but as far as I recall, the game font can be easily changed in the global menu (I have no DC here, perhaps its called "global settings"). However, some fonts do not work properly. Courier and other fonts with a certain type-seize do well...

Or did you mean to change the game font during a running game?

manikus 01-15-2007 12:14 PM

Sorry, i was a bit unclear on that. I want to change fonts during the game, i.e. start off with a tahoma font and when something dramatic happens switch to gothic font. (Hand-written notes?) I would love to hear that this is already easily doable and that I have jsut overlooked it.

manikus 01-15-2007 01:07 PM

The latter. I want to change the font during a game.

As far as I know, all true type fonts should work in DC. You do have to make sure that the font being called for is on the persons computer who is playing the design, of course. But, this can easily be achieved by adding it to the d/l and including instructions on how and where to place the file.

I should have known that you would not have such a simple problem...

Sorry for the misunderstanding...

Concerning true type fonts: It might be possible to use every ttfont, but I had to realize that most of them are not displayed properly. Types are often overlapping and therefore certain words are unreadable!
