I'm trying to make an "armor" (I would say "armour") spell. The idea is that the mage gets magical armor equivalent to scale mail. I have basically copied the spiritual hammer spell to add the item "Magical Armour" to the mage's inventory. However, the armour is not readied which means that a whole turn must pass before the mage may benefit from the armour, and then only if he/she realises that it must be readied.
Is there some way to make an item readied, or unreadied, via a spell? If not, can this be added to the "to do" list? Will there be problems if the mage is already wearing armour (eg a fighter/mage)? If the mage already has plate mail on, this spell should not affect his AC. If less than scale, it should.
