I must admit that I am having difficulty with the logic block event. I can get a different event depending on the number of people in the party (similar to as outlined in the tutorial). What I would like to do is the following:
1. Check if the party has a particular (non special item) 2. Make active the character that possesses the item Then there is no problem - the text displays (say) "Does <ActiveCharName> hand over the Long Sword vs Giants?" Is it possible to perform steps 1 and 2 above? |
LOL! Don't even get me started with logic box. Suffice to say, that is one event I am not going to be using much in my game. I have used this Logic Box event only once and with the experience I went through (after the help of Richard) I have no plan to use it again. I suggest the same for you. Don't bother with Logic Box, just use quest variables and so on to make complicated "If--then" thinking.
I hope that helped. |
I mean to say "Logic Block" not "Logic box". Arrgh, no matter how hard I try not to make a typo of some sort..it never failed, I always make a silly typo >.<

That's why there is a little edit button above each message you post

The first can be done by setting input B to Item List, Gate C to GREP, and input A to the name of the item you want to check for. This will be the default, non-Id'd, name. Change Normal Chain to Conditional Chain and check the 'Chain if result True' box. Then add a chained event to the True chain for this logic block event.
I don't think number two can be done at present. The Logic Block is meant to be adaptable to designer needs, so I'll work out a way to make number 2 happen using Logic Block. |
