First, thanks CocoaSpud for responding to all my bug reports so quickly. I hope they are helpful and not just a pain.
Secondly... Do people generally prefer the multiple step character creation screen used in earlier gold box games and the current version of DC, or the single-screen version that appeared in Dark Queen of Krynn and the original UA? The multi-step gives the advantage of more space and easy changing/adding classes and races when this becomes possible though I think it would be better to display the options that have already been selected on the previous screens. Meanwhile the single-screen lets you see everything about the character at once. I'm not really decided which I prefer (probably lean towards multi-screen?) but was just interested to know what others thought. Steve |

Thanks Steve, for the details you've provided with the bug reports. So far I've had no trouble finding and reproducing them. I give bug reports a high priority and will fix them almost immediately, assuming I can reproduce them.
I don't mind frequent bug reports at all. I want to make DC as bug free as possible. I can probably display the current character selections along the top of each creation screen. I think there are only the four - Race, Class, Gender, and Alignment, that have the list layout. I can do something like this: Human, Fighter, Male Lawful Evil Lawful Neutral Lawful Good Chaotic Evil ...etc |

I am happy either way, but if an answer is needed I would prefer the old style way. But may I make a suggestion - why not give the game designer the option to choose which type of character creation screen comes up? I admit it would take a bit of work to get it done but then people could choose whether they wanted the old style games or the newer flashier style games. Cheers Warlock |
The menu system is not flexible enough to allow multiple groups of related selections. It can only handle a single vertical group along with the horizontal menu options on the bottom row.
If I get around to making multiple vertical groups possible and using a single screen character creation method, I will make either method possible and selectable by the designer via the config.txt file. |
