I couldn't find a previous message that mentioned it in the forum, so mebby any artists there could tell what they use and where to find the program.

this is a good topic, i think.

i use paint shop pro 6, which is the best money i've spent on software. there are demos available for 5, 6 and 7 available on the net. they are all fully enabled, with a 30 day time restriction if i remember correctly.
for version 5.0- http://frua.dns2go.com/pc/misc/psp50ev.exe for a newer version you can go to the company's site at http://www.jasc.com/

there's also a little program that really only would be good for icons, but it's easy to use and a small download. http://frua.dns2go.com/pc/misc/npt32a.zip
i think that this program is shareware, but i don't know if it's still supported.

hope this helps.

photoshop is very powerfull and has a lot of features and MS Paint comes with windows and is really easy to use. Its great for working on icons.

I found MS Paint to be a little on the slow side when it came to loading/saving - might just be my PC.

It opens quicker than Adobe Photoshop at any rate.

Did you ever use Deluxe Paint 3? I've been thinking back to some of the art programs I used to use, and this one seemed one of the best. Mind you, that might just be nostalgia.

does logo count as a paint program? that little turtle could draw some mean geometrical shapes and repeating patterns! http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

(for those of you too young to remember, logo was a drawing program from the early 1980's. you gave a "turtle" commands and he carried them out on the screen.)

all i have to say is, thank goodness that we moved from the turtle to the mouse (or stylus). http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
