Basically that's it, as soon as the version # pops up on the startup screen, the music stops. I even tried looping it from the editor with no results. Any thoughts?

where do you get the Maker?????

Not sure, I used the auto-update, the old site was down, so I used a mirror

The old site host (uaforever.rpgmaker.net) went down for maintenance and never came back. The new site is http://uaf.sourceforge.net.

I've no idea why the sound would stop looping when the version number shows up. Perhaps there is an error message in the log file that would help? Check the UAFErr_Eng.txt file in your C:\UAF\UAFWin folder. The title music is setup to loop until the user presses a key, then the title screen goes away and the music stops. Does it play only once, or does it start to loop and then quit?

Yep, for whateve reason these messages show up
10668.980 Failed to load splash dib
10668.980 Credits screen failed to load
and that is probably where the problem is.
Now if I could just figure out how to fix it..........

That would explain it. The default splash dib file is called 'Title.pcx' and should be in your design folder. If the file is present but not loading, then the most likely problem is that the file was saved with unusual or unsupported settings. If it is a bmp file, try opening it in MS Paint and re-saving it.

I just made a change in this area recently. When the title pic is missing, the old version displayed nothing but still waited for user input before advancing to the main menu. The new version realizes that the title pic is missing and immediately goes to the main menu. It sounds like the latter is probably what is happening in your case.

Hope that helps. If you do have a file that won't load I could try to figure it out in the debugger if you are willing to email me a zip of it.

This problem started happening to me yesterday. Even though the title screen was loading fine, the music stopped right after the version number was displayed. I tracked down the problem and it should be fixed in the new release - version 0.670.
