So, after finally deciding to pester this not-so-dead wizard.. and defeating his spawn of Phoenix Guards... ...what do I get? I mean, is there any point? Aside from levelling up a little, there didn't seem to be a whole lot to them.

I did consider it to be the height of cheese for one of them to explode near Ob-something or other the bounty officer and kill him. It was accidental and a casualty of war though... *cough* Still a few nice drops on him though. Tempting to take out the entire town, but no...

Do you ever find Daer'Ragh's spellbook or the like? Any spells? Anything at all? Or is this just a fun 'never-ending' spawn point?

I think it does end eventually. I forget, but I think the phoenix guards will only spawn twice. Regardless, they are worth good XP.

Nope, they'll spawn again, and again, and again, as far as I know.

And no, there is absolutely no "hard cash" reward. If you're so inclined, it's handy that often the merchant dies in the blast. But apart from that... nada.

I thought the Phoenix Guards only granted 100EXP? Or maybe that's Daer'Ragh himself. Hm.

It'd be funny if his wrath was "great indeed," but he couldn't actually do anything about it except stand there and fume, then storm off in a huff.

I think you're right, but you have to kill each guard twice, which gives you 200 XP per guard. I'm not sure how many of them appear, but with at least 2 spawns, you should definitely get at least 2000 xp

Don't recall how much Daer'Ragh is worth. I did take him out once though - I did the ol' "chase me around while my party shoots at you" technique and took him down. Also did that to Drizzt a few game days earlier.. and left his stuff lying on the ground, naturally. Still have to take out the "Old man" on the road and by the Smithy.. and do some "good deeds" to put my rep back. Me dislike el munchkin characters? Never! ;)

Yes, yes it would. I wonder if anyone will make a mod for that - so he actually does something. Wake him three times, on the third he spawns his guard - when you defeat them, he storms off and returns later on. Maybe outside D's Tower. Could be fun. *shrug*.

Thank you :D . I've always wanted to take him out! Funny how he seems to have Gorion's soundset though. :ponder:
