Hello everyone.

I'm about to start my second solo character now: a solo dwarf.

Could some BG guru please enlighten me to how many HP per level is the maximum for:

A) a dwarven fighter with 19 constitution

B) a dwarven fighter with 20 constitution

if anybody could help me out it would be legendary! Also if you could explain how you came to this i would be eternally greatful lol

Dwarven Fighter with 19 CON gets 15HP
Dwarven Fighter with 20 CON gets 16HP

To arrive at it you have to use an extremely complicated and difficult forumula  . You see a fighter gets 10HP per level. 19 CON gets you an additional 5. 20 CON gets you an additional 6. To see how much additional HP you get from CON check table at the back in your manual. Race has no effect.

Keep in mind this only works up to level 9. After that fighters get 3 HP per level no matter what is their CON.

Keep in mind 20 Con also means regeneration -> very handy while resting. The first character I ever took through the saga was a dwarf fighter, and let me tell you, they get plenty powerful.

The CON bonuses are at the back of the manual, along with the bonuses for strength.

Though, the whole "Regenerating" thing becomes moot once you reach Shadows of Amn.

It's still really nice. I love moving from one screen to another (8 hours of travel or whatever) and being fully healed.

How does the bonus HP work for multiclassed characters?

Lets say, a F/T with a 20 CON?

For each level, your HP for that level in that class will be calculated and then halved, rounded down.4

That means that for every fighter level gained, you will gain:

(1d10 HP + fighter CON bonus) / 2, rounded down

And for every thief level:

(1d6 HP + 2 CON bonus [max for thief]) / 2, rounded down

Later, they will just gain 1 HP/level, I believe, as this is 3 rounded down, but I'm not sure about this bit?
