No spoilers are found within this first post.
First, let me say that you have to stay through the credtis to see the small extra bit at the end. It sort of finishes the story for you...in a way... I just went today to the 10am show of Pirates 3, and loved it, but this movie leaves some questions behind. I'll bring up the questions later, in another post, if somebody else does not do so before me. Without naming spoilerish material, let me say that this movie was a wild ride that I found difficult to hang onto in places. There were things that made me think...what? What did he say? What did he mean by that? What's going on? It had some problems with flow and a couple of times I felt like I was missing something that I should already be aware of. Regardless, I enjoyed the ride and feel satisfied with the ending. It did not end the way I was imagining it, which makes it non-predictable and in a certain way that is good. I look forward to everybody's input. |
personally, it was made with the intention for a pirates 4 if the demand is high enough i reckon. . wont spoil more.

I have yet to see this, I have yet to see Spiderman 3 as well but i plan too. I read somewhere that Depp said "I've never really felt like I'm done playing a pirate, If the fans like it, I could see doing a fourth or fifth."

It was ok... better than some of the reviews said it was. It seemed to me to be in line with the previous two movies. Not as good as the first, comparable to the second.
A lot of the storyline was either weakly supported or simple plot device, but I didn't go to see it expecting Doctor Zhivago. |
I thought it was the best of the bunch, and rounding off the trilogy nicely.
Of course, with room for a fourth. It dealt well with Jacks insanity, bringing Barbosa back into it, and Davy Jones. It tied up all loose ends, like it was meant too. Where as I thought Spiderman 3 was fairly lame compared to the first two and dragged on, Pirates 3 I thought was awesome. Larry, PM me with what happened after the credits. I missed that :( </font? |
You didn't miss much after the credits. I saw the film over the weekend and I thought it was damn good.
SPOILER - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I was hopin that Jack would have got to be the Captain of the Dutchman though, and I wonder whats gonna happen with Calypso, I liked how Davy Jones pronounced her name, and his character is awesome. Barborosa was great too, not to mention Capt. Teabues, Jackies pap. I have a question though, is Jack Sparrow just a character from this movie or does he have other origins? |
Just saw it and I really liked it. You probably had some problems with pacing and flow Larry because they drop you in the middle of the last movie's plot without giving any recap. I know I had trouble following at first until the second movie came back to memory.

Didnt stay after the spoilers (edit: by that I mean credits) cause by that point my butt was asleep, so someone fill me in? Honestly I think the first was awesome, the second was less awesome and the third less awesome then that.

Ok
- - - - - It's 10 years later, she's over a hill overseeing the sea with a ten years old little girl. We see the go down and then the ship teleport back in that green flash of light. |
Man that was an annoying film. Annoying because there was a brilliant film inside somewhere. The plot was all over the place, it needed serious editing and the writers - directors needed more self control instead of self indulgance.
Visuals are stunning however and if bill Nighy's makeup is not the best special effect to a face ever in the history of film i'll eat my hat. I loved the nine pieces of eight running joke and Keef Richards cameo role. 4 stars outta ten **** |
