I saw this movie last night and man was it frickin awesome, I'd have to say that it and the X-Men trilogy are my comic book movies, wow this was a great movie. Anyone else seen it so I can talk about spoilers?

Definate Spoilers Here:
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I indeed got to go see it today and enjoyed the ride. However, there were some parts in the story flow that made me realize that the story was not told as good as it could have been for some flaws that really stuck out, and the whole pointing thing that kept happening when the Rider would point to the Devil in accusation. He did it like three times in the show and it looked a little silly, because who points to people like that? I also wonder about the police knowing exactly who did this, and yet how is the Rider able to stay under the radar for the rest of his life, even on the road? Is this part of the comic that needs to be explained for me? I can assume that the reason why the four demons did not take him on all at once was because being Chaotic Evil, they are not big on being "team players", but it bothered me that the Rider got the chance to pick each demon off one at a time instead of having to deal with them all at once. I laughed when the main demon was able to get beaten by the Rider "after" he took in all those souls unto himself because that made him weaker to the Rider's key offensive attack. Before that, the main demon had no soul to suffer the Glare from the Rider. How did the girl not get burned when she touched his burning head? I mean, does not blue fire actually burn HOTTER than orange? Why would she even risk something like that? And what was with the old man saying he had "one more switch in him". How is it that he only had one more, and how did he know and if he were still alive, how could Cage become the next Rider if there be only one at a time? Why had the Devil not come for him in all those years? Okay, enough of my ranting...here is what I liked: I was worried about Cage playing this part because I do not see him as a comic book hero, but he really did pull it off for me and I think he did a great job. The hottie was hot, and that is always good to have in a movie like this. The story in its entirety was really good, and the effects were nice eye candy. Cage was really buffed up for this movie, which shows how serious he took his work. The movie leaves a great door open for a sequal. (mini rant...Does the Rider really think that the devil will not go after the hottie to get back at him? He's leaving her unguarded you know...) [ 02-18-2007, 12:53 AM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |

How cool is it that the original rider (Peter Fonda) was in the movie?
OH, and larry... the police found the license plate from his motorcycle... And I wish they would've shown more of Sam Elliot in rider form... I'd love to have a still graphic of where both riders were going through the desert! |

Larry,
lol.. Peter Fonda was the original Easy Rider.. us bikers have always called him the Ghost Rider.. Because of him, alot of people bought motorcycles and Harley's in particular.. To have him play the devil in this movie was just the icing on the cake!! |
I have no idea how reliable this website is but this article says that talks for Ghost Rider 2 are already in the works. We can only hope...
Edit: And there's a video game too... [ 02-20-2007, 08:03 PM: Message edited by: VulcanRider ] |

I don't think that the Ghost Rider will be able to have much of a public life anymore, unless the public will start to see him as a hero, like spiderman. I also think that the devil will come after Roxy, its the Rider's only weakness.
Man, Nicholas Cage needs to hit the gym, I mean when he had his shirt off and he was looking in the mirror he didn't even have an 8 pack or anything, he didnt prepare for this role well at all. ;) To any Ghost Rider comic book readers out there, where did they get the name Mephisto or whatever, why not call him satan or lucifer? Oh and i really liked that part when Blackheart had just taken in all the souls and said, "Our name is Legion, for we are many" Taken right from the bible, i really liked that. |
