There are nearly 40,000 signatures at the petition site, and LOADS of other sites are up too. People are PISSED SG1 is canceled.
Was the last episode we saw with the dragon about to fry them going to be the last episode? Or is there another block of shows in Jan? If that's where it ends, that SUCKS ASS! They did say that 2 made for TV Movies will be made to tie up loose ends, but damn... Stargate SG1 was good. (And NBC is canceling it) I wonder if they want it gone so their new "Heroes" sci-fi series gets all the ratings...? Idiots. NBC Killed Trek, and Now they kill SG1. IDIOTS. If Sci-Fi stopped making those moronic "Original Movies" that are just shitty "B" movies, maybe they would have the cash for SG1. The sci-fi channel makes foolish TV movies like "Bigfoot" or the 100 ft lizard... or something REALLY lame NO ONE wants to watch. But go to google, and type "Save SG1" and you'll find save sites. |
Here is a press release:
------------------ Stargate SG-1 movies coming to DVD Wednesday - October 11, 2006 | by Darren Sumner What's the future of Stargate SG-1? Fans have been wondering and rumors have been flying for weeks since the long-running SCI FI Channel series was cancelled in August (story). Now, at least the first part of that answer is here. MGM has given a green light for the show's creators to produce two direct-to-DVD movies based on SG-1. Executive producer Brad Wright let TV Guide in on the news this week. "It's the climax of the Ori story line," Wright said of the first film. The movie will tie up the loose ends from the show's tenth season, which is expected to conclude its U.S. television run in June. The film will be written and directed by current SG-1 executive producer and show-runner Robert C. Cooper. The SG-1 cast is not signed for the movies yet, but are said to be "very eager" to continue. Wright will pen the second film, which will involve time travel. The producers have previously expressed a desire to set up a third Stargate television series with a film -- but it isn't confirmed yet whether or not this second movie will do just that. The studio is targetting a fall 2007 release for both projects -- just a few months after Stargate SG-1 ends its historic, 10-year run on cable television. It's entirely possible that the movies will also be aired on television -- something SCI FI commonly does with direct-to-DVD movies. "They're not big-budget [films] by any definition, but for us it's pretty good," Wright told TV Guide. "As we've proven over the years, just give us little more money and we can make pretty good television, or DVDs." "There's a sense of an era for us ending," he said, "but at the same time, we're all positive because of the prospect of continuing forward with movies and the introduction next year of Stargate Worlds, a massive multiplayer online game." AHA!!!!!! See below! Season Ten of Stargate SG-1 resumes with all-new episodes in March 2007 on SCI FI Channel. -------------- |
I especially love Mansquito. Damn that movie was so badass

hahaha.... no.
See!!! With that...what? $39 it took to make that movie, could have bought a new stargate DHD prop.. Damn them!!! |
I honestly don't see why the Sci-Fi channel actually makes that crap. Any person right in their mind would realize no one wants to watch world-class crap movies. Unless they are trying to maintain that particular image. But even so, it is simply not worth it.
Hell, I once watched one of their dumb original movies. Something about vampires across the galaxy. And they used a damn sock puppet for "special effects". A F**KING SOCK PUPPET! Thankyou Sci-Fi channel, for bringing me back to the bygone days of Sesame Street. |
Hmmm I am sooo far behind on Stargate when they cancelled it over here...or moved it to 12pm at night.
Might have to go buy those Season DvD's for christmas. |
Yeh, and WTF is up with the sci-fi channel running WWF or whatever wrestling? lol... geez.
YEAH. I wanna watch adult overweight men grabbing each others crotches. WEEE. not. :D What ROYALLY sucks is Battlestar's ratings have really dropped since the 'friday night' lineup was ruined. (no new gate episodes till Jan) I love the new BSG! Great writing, and hits close to current event issues. Remember, NBC owns Sci-fi. Remember what they did to Trek in the 60's. lol. morons. Omigod! W00TAGE!
Still feeling down about SG1, but this is GOOD STUFF! |
Yeh, I wonder what it's gonna be like...
I just liked Richard Dean Anderson--his attitude in SG-1 is kinda close to mine.. Not the 'acting dumb' part, but the 'uh, yeah' or when Anubis projected though the gate and his voice was all scary, RDA says "Oh come on, who sounds like that, sounds like some bad horror movie effect' or something smartassed like that.. LOVE that. I'm into physics, so a lot of stuff Sam carter says is *pretty much* based on the latest current scientific knowledge. (Some of it is techno-babble, but most is correct--like black holes slowing time down the closer you are to the event horizon..etc..) |
