Just wondering.

im not going to lie that its good and bad at the same time.

The first few books really caught my attention because of the indeph plot and storyline. However, the world becomes very confused with different characters being introduced and you will need to write down an entire book just for characters alone.

Last, its very long and make sure you find spare time for it.

Albromor 09-28-2006 01:19 PM

I am in complete agreement with Harkoliar's assessment. I found the first 4 to 5 (maybe 6) books to be good. But when I picked up either 6 or 7 -- forget which one because it has been so long afgo -- I was completely disgusted with brand new characters and geography thrust upon us. I never finished the book and I have never gone back.

Too many characters, too much page after page of words supplying virtually nothing to move the story along, and so many convolutions and threads blowing about that it became boring and confusing.

Luvian 09-28-2006 09:03 PM

It's the opposite for me. The first few novels were ok, but I liked the ones from 4-5 up more, I think the character interaction is really great.

Albromor 09-28-2006 10:58 PM

I was wondering when you were going to show up, Luvian. :D

I would have dropped in sooner, but I had to stop at the bank and deposit my check for the last thread.

I agree more with Albromor than Luvian.

It's not that the later books are bad, per se, but they just aren't going anywhere.

Jordan is dragging this thing out beyond belief - and let's not talk about his marrying his editor...not to mention, he has a fatal illness which might kill him before he finishes the damned thing.

Oh I agree, he is dragging this thing a lot. I'm not claiming that it's the best series ever, bu that's it's enjoyable. There's 3? books left so we'll get some things happening soon anyway.

I haven't even finished Crossroads of Twilight yet. I'm not in any hurry for Knife of Dreams to come out in paperback, either.

I've lost that much interest in reading them.
