Apparently from reading the petition, it sounds like there is a matter of rights that is keeping the industry from moving ahead with it.

Signed it, I loved going to see the stage show as a kid and even the mad animated version a little later on.

I think a big budget version will be hit or miss tho any thoughts as to a director?

Signed it, hopefully Peter Jackson will make it and get some of the LOTR cast back.

Just for the record, the "Gandalf the Grey" from the fellowship died in real life. That's quite a big obstacle, considering the part he played in The Hobbit.

Do you make the movie light for children and adults with swashbuckling daring do! Or make the film dark showing the gruesome fights with the goblins, and the massacre at the town on the lake by Smaug, I favor the latter
