If you add a NPC to your party, just to take their stuff (whether it's to use it or sell it), are you still soloing the game?
|
Is it wrong that I stared at the subject line and figured out what the post would be?
Anyway... I doubt it, only because it doesn't work out, roleplay-wise. Except in rare cases ("I have bested you in single combat, Shar-Teel... Now give me your weapons and get out of my sight), you'd have to mug/pickpocket them, or do without. If you're soloing, I doubt you'll need the pittance you get from long swords and chainmail anyway once you get past the first chapter. |
Yeah, but I was actually just thinking about Jahiera, Khalid, Imoen, Xzar, and Monteron, since I'm pretty sure they come with some potions, which would really help out in the early game.
BTW, is it so bad to know what a thread is about from it's subject line? ;) |
I think it's OK.
Imoen has a potion. Xzar has a couple of scrolls. I'm not sure if Montaron has anything useful. I'm pretty sure Jaheira and Khalid have nothing useful. |
Jaheira had a potion of invisibility that I swiped off of her. That's it though. No more adding people on.

o.O
Never saw that in her inventory. My dad has played BG1 more times than I have, and he would have mentioned such a powerful potion. |
I think I remember Montaron having an Oil of Speed...

I'd say its very cheesy, and un-rpg like.
It would never happen. So I'd say don't do it. |

A much better idea!
But having said that, they don't have the greatest items! It all depends on how you play...if you fail the pickpocket and they attack you, will you reload? Or will you kill them and lose them forever? Many cheesy things can happen! Just try and play properly! |
