I'm kinda surprised. I thought the show was getting good ratings. Oh yeah, they cancelled "Emily's Reasons Why Not" after only one episode. I never watched that one, but Heather Graham would probably get ratings based on her looks alone. |
This has been the best season of West Wing, probably. It's been like watching 2 shows, in fact, with some episodes focusing on the White HOuse and some on the campaign trail. The mock debate was great, and my only complaints have been (1) less Alan Alda presence than I'd hoped for and (2) I'm not a big fan of Jimmy Smits.
If I still had my signature block, which has been exiled for misbehavior, you would see that one of my quotes is Vote Venick for President. That's Alda's Republican President Candidate character, and he is awesome. If more Republicans were like him, I'd put elephant wallpaper in my house. Anyway, I'm sad to see it go, but I'll just consider it less time I have to schedule away from WOW. [ 01-30-2006, 06:06 PM: Message edited by: Timber Loftis ] |
I agree Timber, this season has been real good. I really enjoy the campaign episodes, the only problem I have is with some of the national security things. One of the things I enjoyed in the early seasons (right after season 4, there was a major turnover in the writing and production crews), was how everyday matters were turned into such big, political battles (which in fact they are.) For a couple of years, it just seemed like everything had to be dramatic, and the sense of realism and wonder at looking at the White House on an average day was gone.
And I agree too, I am severely left wing personally, but out of the two, I would vote for Alda. Although I keep thinking "I believe you have my stapler" whenever he has a scene with Stephen Root. |
