R there any items which have uses that r difficult to discover, if you thought that about any of your items, could you please tell. Ex. golden pantaloons, and the idol.

I wont say what the Pantaloons do, as it's a big spoiler. Thats the only item with a hard use to find.

If you bring that idol Kozah to the Ulcaster School along with the armor of the undead knight in the Firewine ruins the Ghost of Ulcaster will exchange the two items for the Vampiric Sword.

The sword has a nice name but is pretty useless. It is better to sell the idol (I suddenly cannot remember if you can sell the idol or not) and give the armor to another ghost in the Firewine ruins for 1500 exp.

The idol also summons that nasty whatever-it-is.

Beware the nasty whatever-it-is (I forgot its name, been awhile), for it can kill you quite easily.

the demon is worth somewhere between 12,000 to 15,000 XP as well though IIRC, so it's worth it ;)

Thats way over. I think I got 4k last time I killed him. And you MUST kill him before Ulcaster makes the exchange. He will not accept it if you make a run for it. I think Dispel Magic will destroy the flaming sword and make the Doomsayer at little easier to kill.
Also you must actually make the exchange to get it. If you kill Ulcaster you'll only get his RotNA. You may also get the items back after the exchange if you kill him IIRC. Been a while.
I seem to recall the flaming fist lady who pays for scalps also being interested in purchasing the idol. Wish they had found a cooler way to incorporate it in the game. For instance the ability to polymorph into a Doomsayer yourself if you are chaotic.
Another item difficult to discover is the Helmet of Opposite Alignment. Won't tell you where it is though. Good hunting.
