I haven't seen it but was curious as to the quality of the movie. *PLEASE, NO SPOILERS* Is it faithful to the book, or does it become a metaphor for the Iraq War and that Spielberg takes liscense with H.G. Wells classic work for below surface politicing? I have heard this spin which is why I am asking. Opinions please and again please no spoilers because I want to rent it if I can just sit back and enjoy. Thanks.

Defiantly, I won't say much, but I can say that it is one of my favourite movies, looks awesome, the story is great (except for a tiny part at the end) great acting and so on.

Defiantly a worthwhile movie, and defiantly one for fans of the original stuff (but they didn’t include any of the original music :( )

If you are thinking of the same thing I am then I totally agree, there was one part near the end that made me and a few friends actually boo the screen, and we were not the only one.

Hmmm. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...;f=11;t=002017

For when you've seen it and want to discuss some more, if you haven't already read it.

After you've seen it I'll post Spooney's review (from the Spooney Experiment), suffice to say, he wasn't a fan and he tears the movie a new one and turns it into a baseball analogy complete with Steinbrenner.

Not a bad movie, saw it for the first time on thursday. 'Predictable' doesn't really apply in this case, but I don't know that it brings much new to the table that the origonal didn't have (except of course some outstanding cgi).

Personally, I'd suggest watching the origonal... it's a classic and IMO the better movie overall.
