I haven't seen it but was curious as to the quality of the movie. *PLEASE, NO SPOILERS* Is it faithful to the book, or does it become a metaphor for the Iraq War and that Spielberg takes liscense with H.G. Wells classic work for below surface politicing? I have heard this spin which is why I am asking. Opinions please and again please no spoilers because I want to rent it if I can just sit back and enjoy. Thanks.

Defiantly, I won't say much, but I can say that it is one of my favourite movies, looks awesome, the story is great (except for a tiny part at the end) great acting and so on.
Defiantly a worthwhile movie, and defiantly one for fans of the original stuff (but they didn’t include any of the original music :( ) |

For when you've seen it and want to discuss some more, if you haven't already read it. |
After you've seen it I'll post Spooney's review (from the Spooney Experiment), suffice to say, he wasn't a fan and he tears the movie a new one and turns it into a baseball analogy complete with Steinbrenner.

I am with you guys on the end. Up till that point good movie. I was like is that it? ;)

Not a bad movie, saw it for the first time on thursday. 'Predictable' doesn't really apply in this case, but I don't know that it brings much new to the table that the origonal didn't have (except of course some outstanding cgi).
Personally, I'd suggest watching the origonal... it's a classic and IMO the better movie overall. |
