I saw this movie last night, it was pretty well acted (it stars Kevin Spacey and Kate Winnslet, both of whom I have tremendous respect for) decently written (I saw several of the twists coming from the beginning), and overall a decent movie, It deals with fallacies with the Death Penalty, and is a bit overly preachy in that regards, however I relegated that to background fluff in the overall story and found it quite enjoyable. Kevin Spacey is as always a treat to watch, and Kate Winnslet did a good job as well (not as well as in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but as in most mystery movies the detective the least developed character)

I own this film on DVD. I liked it, but it's not something I would want to watch again for a while. I agree that the Death Penalty should be eradicated. I loved the scene where Gale outsmarted the politician. I was even somewhat surprised at the end when she didn't make it in time to save him.

Also, I agree. Spacey is a very good actor.
