I just came back from the cinema. And I have to say that this is one of the best movies I have ever seen.

The movie itself is very strong. When I was watching, it filled me with the feeling why Che Guevara did what he did. The movie talks about friendship, life and poverty, wars etc. The journey wich lasted 12.000 kilometers and eight months, was not only exploration of South America's land, full of misery, and hope, but finding your inner self. Between miners without home, prostitutes and rich citizens Ernesto and Alberto discover that they like all people and they want to change the world.

At the end of the movie when those lines about Che Guevara's life appear the whole cinema was silent. Nothing moved. A very emotinal moment.

Go see it!

I saw it last month and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the movie. All I knew about Che before seeing it was he was one of Castro's lieutenants. Since the movie was supposedly based on his personal diaries, I doubt it's a completely objective story, but still worth the price of a ticket.

Thanks for the reminder Xen and Vulcan rider. I shall try and see it as soon as possible. The local theatre is showing nothing but kids movies down here (school summer holidays) at the moment

Che is a character I have always known his name but never his background. Of course such a controversial character is bound to have many view points upon his life hopefully this will encourage more debate and revaluation about him and his deeds.

Its a good thing that he was removed when he was. Such deviant views were not acceptable.

Stratos 02-18-2005 01:02 PM

What deviant views?

Anyway, I think his diaries are released as books. I intend to read them whenever I feel I have enough time over.

His views on socialism. To lose latin america would not have been acceptable at the time.
