My incessent looping of Rammstein's albums is driving my family crazy - for their sanity, I would like to venture further into the realms of industrial rock. Rammstein are my absolute favourite band. It used to be the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I'm slowly moving towards Rammstein as I'm getting along. So, does anyone know of/recommend any great industrial rock bands? TIA.

What do you define as industrial rock?

Nine Inch Nails.

In a nutshell, it's rock music with electronic sounds or samples, usually added by an electronic keyboard. Other sources of instruments are occassionally used as well, such as voilins.

That's probably not a very accurate definition of it, but that's my experience with it, anyway.

Hm... A friend recommended this, but I was too doubtful. Didn't know they were industrial; might start to check them out, now... Thanks.

Does Organ count? :D

Deep Purple then (come on the oldies)

Well, Nine Inch Nails is THE industrial band you should check out. You should also try bands like Orgy, Fear Factory, Tool, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Pitchshifter. Or even Laibach, Type-O-Negative, Rob Zombie, Filter, Prong, Faith No More/Fantômas/Mr Bungle, KMFDM, Front 242 etc for bands that are not exactly similar but which you will probably like as well.

Note to self: if you have any question about music, talk to Melusine.
Yes, Rob Zombie, Type-O-Negative and Fear Factory should be to your liking.

EDIT: yes, there was a typo in this gruesomly long post.

I've seen FF live - they're OK, only problem is their singer - he really can't carry a single note, sings horribly off-key. But they're really tight apart from that. Hope you have fun!

Mel, have you ever seen Machinehead live? They are the day after I think, so i am thinking on making a couple of days out of it and going to see both.
