Did anyone read it? It`s a great book. It`s a little sad but it shows how some humans (would) react on some occacions. It gives you a lot to think about. If you are interested you can read this book on the internet also. Here is the link. But I bought my own book.

It's a wonderful book, both as a stand-alone novel and a political commentary. If you read up on the theory and history of communism you'll see a lot of cross-over themes. It's possible that Orwell cast the leader (the pig?) in the mold of Stalin.

I haven't read it in a while, but it's good.

The pengiun classics edition shows the original, as well as the the added radio text that the BBC cut out. It also proves Aerich's point of Napolean (known as Cesaer in France)being cast in the role of Stalin, and snowball as Trotsky.

Yes, the book and it's parallel reference are great, one of the rare required readings I enjoyed.

I loved Orwell's other work, 1984, but haven't read Animal Farm...1984 he finished while sick and it shows...but hey, he was in good health (I think) when he wrote Animal Farm, so maybe it's ending won't seem rushed when I read it!

Great book. If I remember correctly, the horse, Boxer, is representative of the proletariat.

Animal Farm has a lot more subtle humor (maybe wit would be a better word) than 1984, which must be one of the dreariest books I've read in years

I loved animal farm. I prefer 1984, but they're both very good books and packed full of subtle (and not so subtle) metaphors.
