the latest Stephen Kings gunslinger series is here :D and my husband is going to get it for me..in Hard copy [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img] I can not wait, I have been a fan of the gunslinger since I was little. I have been hunting this book for the last 7 months, since I heard it had been released..yes it will cost me an arm and a leg, but I WANT THIS BOOK! :D

Umm.... haven't the books only been out for approx ten years or so... (IIRC that's when the first one was released) how young are you... darn, now I feel old...

the first one was published in five instalments in 1982 ;) I am 28 so I was a little older before I actually read it the first time, but every since then I have been hooked, and have/had every book until my mom got them [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img]

ah, ok, must've just been when they released them as a whole book... BTW there is an RPG in developement based on the Gunslinger, and the world he resides in.

*nods* I think it's one of the headlining features at this years GenCon.

what is the gunslinger series about?

it is kind of a sci-fi style book, about a guy who is from another world, and he is fighting bad guys (go figure) and before long, people from this world are brought over on the brink of death, or having a bad life to help fight the enemy, been a few years since I read one, but it is pretty good to read, do a search on the dark tower to learn a little more ;)

Have read quite a few Stephen King books (quite a few = a ton) but could never bring myself to read that series, worth reading I assume?

I think it is, some people might not though, depends on your taste..but if you like king, you will probably like to read these as well
