So I was watching the T.V before I had to come to work and seen this preview for Riddeck. It looks like vin or van disel what ever his name is. Is going to play in it as the main character. Now is this a sequal or something to Pitch Black? Looks like it might not be to bad. I liked Pitch Black. :D

To this day, I still retain my belief that his best performance was that in Saving Private Ryan. Not the simple fact that he was in it, just that they got rid of him fairly quick. :D

But yeah, when I first saw the trailer for The Chronicles of Riddick (I think that's the full title), and then saw he'd be starring in it, I wasn't planning on seeing it. But now that I've had some time to think it over, I might see it.

I don't know anything about Pitch Black, though.

(Minor plot spoilers, mostly a synopsis of Pitch Black)

It is the sequel to Pitch Black (didn't like that movie much, but he was decent in it). Riddick (in Pitch Black) was a captured murderer being escorted on a ship, which crash lands on a planet with some nasty critters that only come out whenever it is dark; the suns go down, and the munching begins. Of course, he ends up helping out, making him a "not so bad" bad guy (the key is that he has artificial eyes that allow him to see in the dark real well, but has problems during the day; that's why you see him with glowing eyes in the dark, and wearing goggles in the light).

This sequel looks like a Vin Diesel star vehicle. Could be decent (Judy Densch is in it), but I'm not exactly looking forward to it.

i thought i had read that it is supposed to take place prior to the events of pitch black. I think it's a prequel, as opposed to a sequel. Not 100% positive on that though.

We're thinking of seeing this one; it shows promise. How bad can it be? Belle and I made it through Cold Creek Manor, didn't we?

Cold Creek Manor..
You made it through the whole thing? Did the story pick up any after, say, the last half of the movie?

This looks pretty cool. I have a weakness for sci-fi action films and I really liked Pitch Black. Its an example of how to do a band-of-survivors-being-picked-off-one-by-one movie right.

And they've got the same director and writer back - David Twohy. He's the man responsible for The Fugitive screenplay, which at least puts him a cut above your average B movie hack.

The Fugitive, with Harrison Ford? Oh, well, that changes everything.

Slim I was thinking the same thing but in the new movie he has those funny looking eyes so I think this might be the sequel. Not to sure though.

So Nano I take it you did not like: "To fast to furious" LOL :D

No cold creek manor talk you may get banned from IW. ;) :D

I saw the first one, but not out of choice. It was more of a compromise, or torture, whichever you prefer.
