Why do you ask? I'll tell you why. It's what I've waited for my whole life. Roger Waters (lead singer of Pink Floyd) is going on another world tour! I just hope he comes to NY. I am definately not gonna miss out. Here's the article from Brain-Damage. This is the only thing known so far about his 2005 tour, or at least all I can find.
Our friend Col Turner over at A Fleeting Glimpse has had confirmation from the incredible backing singer P P Arnold, that Roger Waters has asked her to put aside nine months in 2005 for his next tour. Obviously this will include an amount of rehearsal time (he will be performing tracks from his forthcoming album) and as yet, no dates or venues are known. As we have information, we will post it here. Those after their latest Roger fix sooner, can relax. He is just finishing off his classical opera, Ca Ira, which should get its long awaited release next year (2004). Brain Damage understands that the recordings were wrapped up in Paris last month, so only require final mixing before they can be committed to CD. We also have been told, in confidence, about one of the things that has happened for Ca Ira - as soon as we can say anything about this, we'll happily reveal all! As yet, only the Overture has been heard in public, being performed at the Royal Albert Hall last year. (See review elsewhere on this site). |

Sorry, SecretMaster; 2005 is already devoted to constructing my shrine to the Star Wars saga, which wraps up.

Nooo. Damn you, you can't steal my YEAR. Never, you can't, you won't, I've waited years for this!
Hmm, maybe we could... compromise... |
Maybe wear headphones at the theater?

Just to be completely nerdy I should point out that this was a World Tour I saw him on - the "In the Flesh" tour of 2002. However looking at my wonderful poster from the said event it appears he didn't play any dates in the USA. Bad luck, but the wait will definately be worthwhile! :D
And I think Waters sings most of Final Cut, but not very much of anything else. On The Wall he sings a few backing bits - most noticeably the doctor in "Comfortably Numb". He does the distant, floating, "Hello, is there anybody in there..." stuff and then Gilmour comes in with the strong "There is no pain, you are receeding" bit. I love that song - just going to put it on now... |
