Does anyone else here watch this show? For me, its probably the best 45 minutes of the intire week.
For more info on this brilliant program, check

I watch it occasionally.

The main problem I have with this program is that you can't really see what is going on when the battle has started. Most of the time you see either the commanders giving orders or close-ups of the troops. Neither gives the information I like to see. You cannot see whether the commanders are making mistakes or what the computer opponent is doing. The only input you get about these things is the commentary of the two experts who explain, after it is over, what really happened and what mistakes the commanders made.

I like the idea of the program, I like the historical setting and I like the analysis after the facts. It's just the lack of overview in the main part of the program, the actual battle, that ruins it for me.

Hey Velk! I don't get it over here but i have read reviews and play by plays of the battles.. brilliant idea.

Deejax:Yeah, its often hard to get a good picture of how the battle is progressing. That doesn't really irritate me, though, as it are mainly the players that make the program enjoyable. "We have to hold the hill"! Rofl.
Djinn: Its a good show. Alot of fun to watch The only thing that does irritate me is that commanders keep making the same mistakes. Don't these people watch the show? Each time there is a hill involved, the (way too conservative) battle commander is often willing to sacrifice a great number of troops to hold it, which usually results in them losing the battle.

You don't mean the one where the players commanded Attilla's army? Man that was stupid:
Loads and loads of (horse)archer and what do they do with 'em? Nothing. Just wait and watch what the enemy does. Even when some troups got engaged they left other units standing around picking their (horses?) nose. Stupid, stupid, STUPID!

I wonder what would happen if you have a few hardcore RTS gamers as commanders instead of the candidates I've seen so far. Could be interesting.... ;)

Yes, the Attila battle is a good example. But what irritated me was that the exact same thing happened during the Telamon battle, two weeks earlier. How can people be so stupid? You have two massive Roman army's approaching from two sides, and all they did was form a circle while desperately attempting to hold the hill.
